Because it doesn’t do to be perilously short of notebooks
Build it and they will come, or, buy notebooks and writing will get done.
Although to be honest, I’d write if all I had were petrol receipts and used electricity bill envelopes, and that has sometimes been the case, but it certainly helps to have some nice notebooks. I am particularly fond of buff-coloured books, and Alice in Wonderland illustrations, so this was a successful shopping trip. And side-printing of pages makes me happy.
Although, my notebooks are heading in the same direction as the amount of novels I have, more than enough waiting to be used/read, sitting around my bedroom in stacks of future joy.
But we have to think in the terms of apocalypse, whether it be nuclear, zombie, or weather-related. I may not have enough tinned food to see me through, but I will have enough notebooks, pens and novels, and so if it all goes a bit ‘Book of Eli’ I can open a little library, and scrape a living together that way. Very few people know how to make papers, and even then it’s will be thick and lumpy craft stuff, so start stockpiling, people.
I love those Alice ones! I love a new notebook or five, too. I’ve become rather attached to Blackwing Palomino 602 pencils and my fountain pen for writing, so secondhand novels, notebooks and stickers are my ‘Pick & Mix’ treats if we ever go into town on a saturday!

It’s utterly nuts reasoning but I use the justification of not having given up smoking about 17 years ago, for spending money on nice things. Just think of all that money I have saved. I also haven’t bought any nuclear weapons, heroin or Faberge eggs, so of course I should be allowed to go to Paperchase!

cute notebooks 🙂
but I don’t even want to wait for an apocalypse. I want to quit my job and open a library now 😦

I looked into being a librarian a while back, as you’re right, we shouldn’t have to wait for an apocalypse!

Yes I love your blog banner 🙂 I bought a necklace off Etsy someone had made with similar illustrations, there were so many to choose from! It was hard to control myself 😉

I totally understand. I too have piles of unused notebooks as well as the towers of books.

Yay! 🙂 Nice to know we’ll never run out of places to write or things to read. That doesn’t bear thinking about!

You have to have a writing implement that you really like too. 🙂

Thanks, I also love the way as they are so new and pretty, I find myself making more of an effort with my handwriting than my usual drunken-spider-fell-in-an-inkpot scrawl. 🙂

I completely understand that feeling! 😀

I understand your love of notebooks. To me, it is purposeful in having a writing tablet specific. When I open my tablet, before I reach for my pen, I am confident in my mission. Unique notebooks also show I am giving care and attention to my mission.

You’ve hit the nail on the head 😉 I buy a specific brand called ‘Oxford’ for creative writing as the pages are thick enough to withstand lots of pen on both sides, and many crossings out, etc. When I sit down with one of them, I’m entering a zone.

Yes, the pen indentation on both sides! Really shows how intense I can be when I write at times!
